Job summary

The East Baton Rouge Parish School System is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead district staffing, policy interpretation, and personnel management in accordance with board policies and state/federal mandates.

The role directs recruitment, placement, evaluation, discipline, and dismissal procedures while collaborating with the Chief Officer for Human Resources and ensuring compliance across the district's human resources functions.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Education or related field and 5 years of supervision/administration experience.
• HR certification preferred but not required.
• Proficient in computer use, email, and standard applications.

Responsibilities

• Directs staffing of elementary and secondary schools and placement of personnel.
• Directs preparation of statistical reports to meet state and federal requirements.
• Coordinates leadership development activities for prospective administrators.
• Maintains personnel records and supervises document maintenance.
• Directs leadership development programs to meet administrative needs of the district.
• Oversees appraisal processes to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with workers' compensation and ADA regulations and internal investigations procedures.
• Directs the district drug testing program.
• Supervises HR supervisors and handles dismissal procedures.
• Writes and sends correspondence to employees.
