Job summary

Community Counseling Services in the United States seeks an experienced Human Resources Director to lead employment policies, recruitment, payroll and benefits, and staff development.

The role collaborates across programs, ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and builds a resilient workforce through strategic HR initiatives.

The HR Director will supervise HR staff, drive credentialing for Direct Providers, and promote an inclusive, compliant workplace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development.
• Experience with employment law, benefits and compensation, employee development and relations, and program safety.
• Experience in recruitment, interviewing, and new employee orientation.
• Knowledge of OSHA, FMLA, and labor law regulatory frameworks.
• Valid South Dakota Driver’s license and eligibility for Medicare/Medicaid participation.

Responsibilities

• Models civility; leads by example and maintains confidentiality for employee information.
• Assist with training management on HR matters and address employee conflicts and mediation.
• Manage benefit programs and conduct salary/benefit reviews.
• Oversee provider credentialing and maintenance of personnel records.
• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals, including talent acquisition and workforce development.
• Lead recruitment and orientation programs for new employees.
• Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws across HR functions.
