Job summary

Worthington Steel is seeking an HR Business Partner to partner with plant leadership in Porter, Indiana. You will align people strategies with business goals, coach leaders, and strengthen our culture in a manufacturing setting.

The role requires 5–7 years of HR experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong skills in employee relations, performance management, and talent development. You’ll lead full-cycle recruiting, workforce planning, and ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong employee relations and workplace investigations experience.
• Proven ability to coach leaders and influence decisions.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience using HR metrics to drive business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with plant leadership to align people strategies with business objectives.
• Coach leaders on employee relations, performance management, organizational effectiveness, and leadership development.
• Lead workplace investigations and resolve employee concerns with fairness, consistency, and confidentiality.
• Foster employee engagement through recognition, communication, and culture-building initiatives.
• Lead full-cycle recruiting and workforce planning to attract and retain top talent.
• Analyze HR metrics and workforce trends to improve hiring, retention, and engagement.
• Support compensation, talent management, and succession planning initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
