Job summary

Dymax, part of the Bachmann Chemical & Engineering family, seeks an HR Business Partner in Torrington, CT. You will partner with plant leaders to align people strategies with production goals, manage labor costs, and coach leaders across shifts.

You will drive employee relations, development, and succession planning while ensuring compliance with employment laws and fostering a culture of learning and accountability within the HR team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in an HR Business Partner or strategic HR generalist capacity.
• Strong experience in employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, learning and development, compensation practices, training support, and workforce planning.
• Understanding of U.S. and regional employment law and how to apply HR policies with consistency and discretion.
• Ability to listen, communicate clearly, and balance empathy with accountability.
• Comfortable coaching managers and supporting HR processes, with a focus on goals, feedback, and development.
• Effective written and verbal communication, able to present sensitive information to diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of US, Mexico, Canada, or California HR nuances is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic business partner to connect HR priorities with production forecasts and business goals.
• Collaborate on headcount planning, overtime, attendance, and labor-cost optimization.
• Provide trusted employee relations support across all shifts and coach managers through performance matters.
• Champion leadership development and training aligned with employment law and HR best practices.
• Support talent acquisition, engagement, retention, and succession planning.
• Partner with EHS to reinforce safety culture and compliance with wage-and-hour laws.
