Job summary

Murata Electronics is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to drive organizational success with People strategies, employee relations, and HR solutions in a hybrid San Jose setting.

You will work with leaders on workforce planning, change management, and performance processes while ensuring compliance with California laws and company policies. The role emphasizes data-driven HR decisions and cross-functional collaboration across Talent Acquisition and Talent Development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational psychology, business administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of human resources experience.
• Professional HR certification such as PHR, PHRca, or SHRM-CP.
• Knowledge of California employment laws and employee relations practices.
• Excellent organization, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve disputes and observe confidentiality.
• Proficiency working with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Applications.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize work, stay composed under pressure, and adapt to changing conditions.
• Willingness to learn new responsibilities and adapt to new situations.
• Strong conflict-resolution skills and ability to maintain relationships at all levels.
• Experience facilitating employee training and development programs for all levels of employees.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders on workforce planning, organizational changes, performance management, and employee relations.
• Provide HR guidance aligned with business objectives, values, and leadership direction.
• Coordinate promotions, title changes, cost center adjustments, and managerial transitions.
• Audit job descriptions to ensure data integrity in policy databases and HRIS updates.
• Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify improvements and assist with reporting.
• Administer goal setting and performance reviews for effectiveness, compliance, and equity.
• Assist with succession planning to develop leadership.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Talent Development for onboarding new hires.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and monitor HR risk trends.
• Facilitate terminations, conduct exit interviews, respond to policy inquiries, prepare HR budgets and quarterly charts, present HR policies to management.
• Represent Murata at unemployment hearings and investigations.
• Attend evening international business calls occasionally.
• Engage in local HR chapter activities.
• Maintain Asana project updates.
