Job summary

Family Court in Dover, Delaware, is seeking a Casual/Seasonal Human Resource Advisor III. This advanced HR role supports multiple agencies with expert interpretation of HR laws, rules and procedures, and collaboration with staff and leadership.

Eligible applicants will work up to 29.5 hours per week and perform complex HR tasks with independence. The position emphasizes guidance, data analysis, and compliance across HR functions, including payroll data reporting and reporting risk to leadership.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Three years of professional human resource experience.
• Two years’ of professional human resource experience AND a Statewide Human Resource Certification or professional human resource certification.
• Two years’ experience in performing professional human resource work in support of a human resource function.
• Two years’ experience in providing guidance, direction and recommendations to employees, management or others on inquiries and/or challenges.
• Two years’ experience in applying human resource laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
• Two years’ experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.

Responsibilities

• Provides guidance, direction and recommendations to employees, management and others based on findings, rules, regulations, policies, guidelines and precedents.
• Specializes in one or more HR functions or acts as a generalist for HR across agencies.
• Applies and ensures compliance with state and federal HR laws, rules and procedures.
• Analyzes inquiries and evaluates options to provide recommendations.
• Explains and supports HR-related actions and recommendations.
• Assesses workplace risk management issues and reports to leadership.
• Uses HRIS or computers to research and report data and performs data quality reviews.
• Participates in interviews, meetings and presentations.
• May assist with payroll data reporting.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher

Three years of professional human resource experience

Two years’ of professional human resource experience AND a Statewide Human Resource Certification or professional human resource certification

Two years’ experience in performing professional human resource work in support of a human resource function

Two years’ experience in providing guidance, direction and recommendations to employees, management or others on inquiries and/or challenges

Two years’ experience in applying human resource laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures
