Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• One year of professional human resource experience.
• Two years' paraprofessional or administrative support in HR.
• A statewide HR certification or professional HR certification may substitute for one year of experience.
• Work authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-hire guidance to management.
• Determine salary to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Monitor and respond to inquiries received through a resource mailbox.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets.
• Complete appointment notices.
• Process documentation for pre-employment checks.
• Provide guidance, direction, and recommendations to employees, management, and others based on findings and applicable requirements.
• Apply and help ensure compliance with state and federal human resource laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Analyze inquiries, needs, and challenges; assess organizational impact; evaluate options; and make recommendations.
• Explain and support human resource related actions and recommendations.
• Report workplace risk management issues to leadership, including safety and health concerns.
• Research, collect, analyze, and evaluate data from multiple sources, documenting results in narrative and statistical reports.
• Use automated human resources information systems or other computerized systems to research and report data; may perform quality reviews of data in systems.
• Conduct special assignments and studies.
• Participate in interviews, meetings, conference calls, and/or presentations.
• May calculate, resolve discrepancies, and report data for an agency's payroll.

Education
