Capital Health is seeking a Medical Scheduler to coordinate surgical and procedural appointments, manage pre-certifications, and ensure accurate billing workflows. The role will interact with physician offices, departments, and external resources to optimize scheduling and access to care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of surgical or procedural scheduling experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology.
• Experience with insurance precertification/authorization processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgical/procedural patients and coordinate resources to avoid conflicts.
• Maximize nursing time, productivity and resources with leadership input.
• Gather patient and procedure documents for registration and billing.
• Obtain precertification/authorizations from insurance carriers to facilitate payment and minimize issues.
• Verify codes and eligibility, and coordinate with finance for accurate coding.
• Coordinate inter-department services and provide weekly volume reports for pharmacy use.
• Oversee front desk registration, patient flow, and medical records handling.
• Address issues and patient complaints, escalating when needed.
• Assist in growth plans for the practice and support colleagues as needed.
