Job summary

Capital Health's Capital Surgical Group in Pennington, NJ is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to coordinate case scheduling with the OR and GI Endoscopy Unit, negotiate dates and times, and avoid resource conflicts.

You will gather patient and procedure information, schedule procedures and testing, prepare and distribute schedules, and assist co-workers while maintaining prompt patient service at the front desk. Experience in a medical office or hospital setting preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year medical office or hospital experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with OR and GI Endoscopy Unit to schedule cases, negotiating date and time and avoiding resource conflicts.
• Gathers complete patient and procedure information and schedules procedures and testing in a timely manner.
• Prepares and distributes schedules in accordance with established time frames.
• Works independently to assure prompt patient service both on the telephone and at the front desk.
• Oversees the registration and checkout process and the handling of medical records to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Reviews issues with physicians/management and refers difficult situations as needed.
