Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or related field and two years of professional Human Resources experience required.
• OR Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or related field and four years of professional Human Resources experience required.
• Professional HR certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.
• Experience with employee and/or labor relations; healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, coordinates, and maintains HR policies, programs and training with emphasis on employee/labor relations; advise management staff.
• Develops recommendations to maintain positive employer/employee relations and morale.
• Assist with arbitrations and legal inquiries; ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreement.
• Educates staff on policy, values, laws; ensure nondiscriminatory practices.
• Investigates employee issues; provides guidance to management.
• Counsels and disciplines staff as needed; handles grievances and corrective actions.
• Attend grievance meetings; protect interests of employees and organization.
• Prepare and maintain employee handbook; update HR policies as needed.
• Serve as HR representative on Harassment Committee.
