Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Financial Analytics Analyst to partner with hospital and physician stakeholders, delivering insights on financial, operational, and clinical performance. You will mentor junior analysts while driving major initiatives with data-driven recommendations.

Responsibilities include ad‑hoc analyses, variance analysis, and executive‑level summaries to support strategic decisions. Strong SQL/Tableau skills and healthcare experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or related field or 6 years of related experience.
• 3 years in Decision Support and Data Analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to analyze diverse data including financial and clinical metrics.
• Ability to work with large data quantities and derive strategic insights.
• Strong time management to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional partnerships.
• Self‑starter who progresses on major projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Analyze volume, revenue, cost, and profitability to explain results.
• Perform ad‑hoc analyses for business trends and leadership.
• Analyze variances vs budget/forecast to identify improvements.
• Supplement financial analysis with operational/clinical data for context.
• Use rate/volume calculations to measure impact of mix changes.
• Create and present executive summaries of major projects.
• Mentor and coach junior analysts as needed.
