Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Financial Analyst to support analytics across financial, operational, and clinical domains. The role partners with hospital and physician leadership to explain trends, quantify drivers, and deliver actionable insights. Mentorship and coaching of junior analysts are expected.

The analyst will review volumes, revenues, costs, and variances, and prepare executive summaries with recommendations for improving performance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or related field or 6 years of related experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
• 3 years in Decision Support and Data Analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to analyze and interpret various types of data including financial results, operational metrics, clinical outcomes, and other key datasets.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conducts detailed analysis of volume, revenue, cost, and/or profitability to explain financial results and enhance business understanding.
• Performs ad-hoc analyses as requested by leadership.
• Analyzes variances relative to budget, forecast, prior year, or benchmarks to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Supplements financial analysis with operational/clinical data for a holistic view.
• Uses rate/volume calculations to quantify impact of changes in patient mix, procedure mix, or payor mix.
• Creates and presents executive-level summaries with key findings and recommendations.
