Job summary

Wesco seeks a Business Development Manager to join our Grid Services team in Dallas. You will research, analyze, and develop new business opportunities, create effective business plans to generate revenue, expand product lines, and improve customer satisfaction.

This role demands strong financial analysis, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with 50%–75% travel and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; High School or equivalent required.
• 5+ years experience; 6+ years preferred in related roles.
• Experience in financial analysis, sales, and negotiation.
• Knowledge of industry suppliers, customers and competitors.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel 50%–75% and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, evaluates, and develops new business opportunities to expand profitability.
• Retains and expands existing relationships, product lines, and market segments; solicits new business.
• Oversees development and research activities to build on strengths and explore new markets.
• Establishes relationships with customers and suppliers; arranges meetings with Wesco reps.
• Negotiates acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures, and startups.
• Leads and nurtures local implementation teams (LIT).
• Documents cost savings related to spend and value-added services.
• Creates account development activities including gap identification and discovery.
