Job summary

Texas State University is seeking a Senior Proposal Coordinator to manage compliance verification, review, and submission of grant proposals, ensuring complete and sponsor-compliant submissions.

The role acts as the institutional review authority for sponsored proposals, coordinating with Research Coordinators, faculty, and staff to meet deadlines and maintain high standards of accuracy and governance.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in proposal review, including budgets.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations—compliance areas and funding source requirements, and ability to interpret complex regulations.
• Familiarity with electronic submission portals (e.g., Grants.gov, E-Grants, Tex-grants, Research.gov).
• Demonstrated communication, customer service, conflict resolution, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate compliance verification, review, and submission of grant proposals.
• Serve as the institutional review authority for sponsored proposals and coordinate proposal review and submission activities.
• Monitor proposal pipelines, deadlines, and submission activities and work with coordinators, faculty, and staff to prepare proposals.
• Ensure adherence to sponsor guidelines and university policies; escalate complex issues.
• Provide responsive support to faculty and staff on proposal preparation and sponsor requirements.
• Assist with updating procedures, forms, and guidance materials; contribute to training and onboarding.
