Job summary

Texas State University is seeking a Research Coordinator to assist in proposal and budget development, and contract and grant submissions. You will guide faculty through the proposal process, build accurate budgets, and ensure compliance with sponsor requirements.

You will coordinate timelines, manage submission components, and serve as a primary information resource for faculty and staff across colleges as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including tact, diplomacy, flexibility, collegiality, and consistent customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment.
• Demonstrated ability to find and distill information quickly and interpret complex policies, rules, and guidelines.
• Demonstrated fiscal and time management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as a part of a team.
• Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point), Adobe, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact and project manager for faculty during proposal development.
• Coordinate proposal and submission development timelines and internal deadlines.
• Coordinate submission planning meetings and facilitate communication among project team members.
• Coordinate collection of submission components from investigators to ensure timely submission.
• Provide preliminary review of submission materials prior to institutional review.
• Initiate proposal and submission routing in the institutional proposal management system as needed.
• Assist faculty through the grant submission process and coordinate external funding.
