Job summary

TMEIC is seeking a procurement professional in Houston to source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to meet cost, quality, and service goals. You will research new suppliers, expand global supplier bases, and manage terms and performance to support business units.

Responsibilities include negotiating lower costs, ensuring on-time delivery, and maintaining data-driven supplier performance throughout the ERP system. Some travel may be required as part of supplier coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent via education and/or work experience.
• 2 years of purchasing experience in an industrial or commercial environment.
• 1 year of experience sourcing new suppliers.
• Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and ERP; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business unit needs to mitigate supply and delivery risks and implement approved solutions.
• Research new equipment suppliers using the Company's quality system.
• Identify and develop new suppliers globally to support unit needs and reduce costs.
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve lower material costs and on-time delivery.
• Gather data to manage supplier performance and report to the manager.
• Negotiate terms, payment terms, and other financial terms with suppliers as requested.
• Provide ERP reports and prioritize requisitions for processing.
• Coordinate with project managers and engineers on equipment delivery schedules.
• Notify expeditors of urgent orders beyond ERP schedules.
• Advance supplier meetings to update engineers on technology and products.
