Job summary
Vertex is seeking a Finance Controller (Senior Manager) who partners with the COFO organization and cross-functional teams to design and lead agile, compliant finance processes.
You will drive SOX controls, consolidate reporting, and oversee finance risk across R&D, manufacturing, commercial and corporate finance, focusing on process improvement and system transformations.
A CPA with 8+ years in biotech finance is preferred; hybrid work options and Total Rewards are offered.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting; CPA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive finance and industry experience; biotech/pharma preferred.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, forecasting and P&L ownership.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional finance initiatives across COFO to drive process excellence and transformation.
- Support system implementations, M&A integrations and strategic collaborations.
- Design and support the SOX compliance framework and month-end close processes.
- Provide Finance Risk SME support for Third-Party Risk Management and supplier assessments.
- Advise on consolidation schedules, thresholds, and reporting system options.
