Job summary

True Ground Housing Partners in Arlington, VA seeks an Associate Director, Foundation Giving to lead institutional fundraising and grant strategy. You will supervise the Philanthropy Manager and coordinate with program and finance teams to ensure compelling proposals and compliant reporting.

The role reports to the Senior Director, Philanthropy and requires 5–7 years in nonprofit fundraising with strong grant writing experience. This is a full-time, in-person position with a 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; equivalent professional experience considered.
• Demonstrated successful development experience with a minimum of 5-7 years of nonprofit fundraising, including significant grant writing and grants management.
• Experience with grants for social services or housing a plus.
• Excellent writing skills, with a demonstrated track record of securing foundation, corporate, and/or government grants.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for foundation fundraising.
• Translate organizational priorities into funding opportunities and build durable partnerships.
• Lead the research, development, writing, and submission of grant proposals.
• Build and steward relationships with institutional funders and ensure ongoing engagement.
• Oversee grants administration, compliance, and reporting across the portfolio.
• Supervise the Philanthropy Manager and ensure cohesion with other fundraising portfolios.
