Job summary

Team Gilbert in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Fleet Superintendent to lead fleet operations and supervise Fleet Supervisors. The role focuses on improving efficiency while maintaining best-in-class service to citizens in a dynamic government environment.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Fleet Management or related field, plus multiple years of public works fleet management and maintenance experience. Valid AZ driver's license and ASEs are desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Fleet Management or related field.
• 3 Years of Public Works management experience as a supervisor or manager in a fleet operations environment.
• 5 Years of experience in Fleet maintenance.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all activities for the Fleet Supervisors, including hiring, training and development, mentoring, scheduling, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and technical assistance.
• Participate in the division's strategic planning process and play a major role in other large-scale financial, operational, and administrative issues.
• Reinforce workplace culture: inclusive, respectful, and collaborative, which supports a sense of purpose (departmental mission) and belonging for the staff and community.
• Establish a collaborative system that fosters cross-functional cooperation among multiple fleet sites and focuses on implementing programs to address identified needs and timelines.
• Research, recommend, implement, and evaluate goals, pilots, projects, and programs.
• Evaluate department operations to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of services/programs.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Fleet Management

3 Years of Public Works management experience as a supervisor or manager in a fleet operations environment

5 Years of experience in Fleet maintenance

Any equivalent combination of experience and training
