Job summary

Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, ME seeks a Financial Management Analyst within the Budget & Statistics Division to support budget administration and financial oversight across Navy programs. You will apply advisory and analytical skills to improve processes, ensure compliance with DoD/Navy policies, and support the NDAA standards.

The role requires developing and interpreting budget policies, providing guidance to program managers, and handling a range of fiscal duties.

Qualifications

• Experience applying advisory and analytical services, such as internal control testing and correcting abnormal balances.
• Experience developing and implementing financial improvement strategies.
• Experience advising program managers on regulatory requirements, data interpretation, and financial policies.
• Experience providing solutions to problems by developing and modifying accounting methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform or advise on work in any phases or systems of budget administration.
• Analyze and recommend cost/benefit of alternative methods of financial management of the organization’s programs and administrative operations.
• Develop, determine, and interpret budgetary policies and practices.
• Perform a variety of other fiscal, accounting, or financial management duties.
