Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Assistant Controller in Brighton, NY. This hands-on leader bridges accounting and operations, overseeing core accounting while partnering with the General Manager and corporate finance team.

This role focuses on month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and process improvements. It offers high visibility to drive business performance within a growing HVAC and home services organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience with leadership exposure.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and oversee financial reporting
• Prepare financial statements and management reporting
• Analyze actual results against budget and identify key business drivers
• Lead annual budgeting and support ongoing forecasting
• Partner with operations and service leadership on financial and operational performance
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, AP, AR, and cost-related accounting
• Support inventory accounting and related analysis
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and best practices
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and workflow efficiency
• Support accounting systems and technology enhancements
• Provide coaching and guidance to an established accounting team
• Participate in strategic planning and business decision-making
