Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead the accounting function for a family-owned company with ~ $150M in annual revenue. You will manage a five-person team, oversee close processes, and drive process improvements while partnering with ownership and senior leadership.

The role balances day-to-day accounting with strategic insights, budgeting, and financial analysis. On-site in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA, the position offers growth opportunities within a stable, long-standing organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management or supervisory experience.
• Hands-on leadership with team development and mentorship.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations.
• Supervise and develop a team of approximately five accounting professionals.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and reporting.
• Review general ledger activity, reconciliations, journals, and financial statements.
• Maintain integrity of accounting records and ensure compliance with standards.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and provide insights to ownership and leadership.
• Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and external relationships.
