Job summary

Plaid is seeking a Strategic Finance Lead, Product & Engineering to own product-level revenue and gross margin forecasting and to shape analytical frameworks guiding capital allocation across Product and Engineering. You will partner with Product and Engineering leaders to drive strategic finance across key product areas.

You will mentor junior members of the Strategic Finance team, contribute to Board materials, and collaborate with GTM Finance on go-to-market economics and targets.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or related roles in high-growth tech.
• Strong command of product P&L mechanics, including revenue and gross margin forecasting.
• Experience partnering with Product or Engineering leaders; fintech experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present clearly to executives.
• Mentor junior team members and develop analytical rigor.

Responsibilities

• Own revenue and gross margin forecasts for product areas with bottom-up and top-down checks.
• Lead headcount planning, roadmap-based capacity forecasting, and OpEx discipline.
• Manage KPI tracking, variance analysis, and early risk/opportunity identification.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and GTM Finance on milestones and economics.
• Prepare analysis for Board decks and executive reviews.
• Mentor junior team members in financial modeling and stakeholder management.
