Job summary

Barstow Community College is seeking a Facilities and Operations Director to plan, organize, and direct the maintenance and operations of College facilities, including custodial and grounds activities. You will supervise staff, prepare budgets, and oversee safety programs and capital projects.

The role requires coordinating with vendors and inspectors, prioritizing projects, and ensuring timely completion while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, industrial management, construction management or related field.
• Two years increasingly responsible experience in facilities management or a related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Plan buildings, grounds, equipment, furniture and facilities maintenance program including deferred maintenance, systemat ic preventative maintenance, and replacement schedules.
• Supervise repair and maintenance work on college facilities and equipment.
• Oversee maintenance and operation staff; participate in personnel decisions and training needs.
• Develop annual departmental budgets and monitor expenditures within constraints.
• Prioritize and schedule maintenance and operations projects; track progress and adjust resources.
• Communicate with vendors, contractors, and inspectors; plan major projects with stakeholders.
