Chicago Marriott Suites O'Hare seeks an Events Manager to lead the planning and execution of group events and room blocks, coordinating with Sales and hotel operations to meet client requirements and maximize guest satisfaction.

You will manage client relationships, review contracts, forecast revenue for groups, and communicate precise details to all departments. Availability may include weekends or evenings based on events.

Qualifications

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead a team and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Extensive knowledge of food and beverage and function room setup.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, room blocks, and attrition clauses.
• Proficiency in hotel management systems and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain strong client relations and ensure convention specifications are communicated and executed.
• Monitor and manage room blocks according to contract to maximize hotel revenue.
• Review contracts including room block, cut-off date, concessions, and attrition terms.
• Update hotel system with Client information, Contacts, and remarks.
• Forecast group rooms and catering revenues within a 5% variance.
• Coordinate rooming lists, deadlines, and event details with hotel departments.
• Prepare resumes two weeks before group arrival and circulate updates.
• Participate in site visits and plan meetings for upcoming groups.
• Liaise between sales and operations to ensure client needs are met.
• Attend Pre/Post Convention meetings and review final invoices with clients.
• Greet clients on arrival and ensure all items per BEOs are provided.
• Monitor deadlines and release space to maximize hotel revenues.
• Distribute convention resumes and BEOs ahead of events.
• Generate thank you notes and service evaluations with Sales Manager.
