Job summary

Sanmina Corporation in United States, California, San Jose is seeking a Buyer to manage supplier activities for procurement of electronic and electro-mechanical components, ensuring cost, quality and delivery targets.

You will negotiate with vendors, coordinate with engineers, manage MRPs, expediting shortages, and reconcile PO receipts with Accounts Payable, while maintaining data integrity and supporting rapid manufacturing needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree and/or APIC certification.
• 5+ years purchasing experience procuring electronic and electro-mechanical components and raw materials.
• CM background with direct customer interface.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced Excel skills (V-lookup, Pivot Tables).
• Strong communication and detail orientation.
• Able to function in a very fast-paced environment and adapt to changes.

Responsibilities

• Examine purchase requirements and negotiate best prices.
• Coordinate with engineers and suppliers for cost reductions.
• Research products, source vendors, and negotiate terms and delivery of a wide variety of components.
• Expedited and updated open-order status reports for on-time delivery.
• Liaise between manufacturing specialists and suppliers regarding late, damaged, or short orders.
• Provide purchasing/quoting support for critical component shortages.
• Reconcile discrepancies between PO receipts and Accounts Payable.
• Maintain data integrity of PO and parts databases and manage MRP data.
• Manage discrepant material disposition and recovery plans.
• Coordinate pricing revisions, order cancellations, and delivery date revisions with suppliers.
• Expedite shortages to meet manufacturing need dates and update commit dates on weekly shortage reports.
• Review requisitions for accuracy and process assigned purchase orders.
• Ensure materials are pipelined and in stock to meet company requirements.
