Job summary

Sanmina Corporation seeks a Buyer to source, negotiate, buy, and manage a wide range of purchase requisitions in support of production. This role ensures compliance with internal policies while driving cost-effective procurement and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include coordinating purchasing activities, analyzing demand with MRP, sending RFQs, negotiating terms, processing RMAs, and monitoring supplier performance to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 2 years experience purchasing electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components.
• Contract Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Mechanical Manufacturing Operations experience.
• Experience in Materials, Supply Chain and/or Cost Accounting preferred.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Proficient with MS Office, emphasis on Excel.
• ERP experience, preferably Oracle.
• Strong verbal and written communication; interacting with suppliers and Sanmina customers.
• Self-starter, initiative, teamwork or individual contributor.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate purchasing activities and process requisitions promptly.
• Analyze demand using MRP or manual methods to determine need.
• Send RFQs for price and availability.
• Negotiate price, volume, and delivery dates.
• Process RMAs.
• Monitor supplier performance and adjust deliveries to meet production.
• Resolve AP/AR issues through analysis.
• Understand costs and drive profitability related to material and labor.
• Research alternative suppliers for obsolete or long lead-time parts.
• Support engineering changes, procurement policy interpretation, and PPV approvals.
• Understand multi-level Bills of Materials for complex assemblies.
• Apply price escalation clauses for commodity cost changes.
• Familiarity with Incoterms for heavy materials.
• Manage exchange rate risks for international purchases.
