Job summary

Sanmina Corporation in San Jose, CA is seeking an experienced Buyer to coordinate purchasing, analyze demand via MRP, issue RFQs, negotiate with suppliers, and expedit e deliveries to meet production needs.

You will resolve AP/AR issues, research alternatives for obsolescence, and support component sourcing across electronic and electro-mechanical parts. The role demands strong Excel skills, a Bachelor or APIC, and at least five years' experience in procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree and/or APIC certification.
• 5+ years purchasing electronic and electro-mechanical components.
• MRP knowledge is a must.
• CM background with direct customer interface.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced Excel skills with VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.

Responsibilities

• Examine requirements, obtain quotes, and negotiate best prices.
• Collaborate with engineers and suppliers for alternatives and cost reductions.
• Source vendors for components and negotiate terms, price and delivery.
• Expedite and update open-order status for on-time delivery.
• Act as liaison between manufacturing and suppliers on late or short orders.
• Provide purchasing support for critical shortages and reconcile PO vs AP.
• Maintain PO and parts data in MRP planning systems.
• Coordinate pricing revisions, cancellations, and substitutions with suppliers.
• Expedite shortages and update weekly shortage reports.
• Ensure materials are pipelined and in stock to meet needs.
