Job summary

YMCA of Greater New York seeks an Early Childhood Director to lead safe, high-quality programs across DOE classroom-based classrooms and after-school offerings. You will supervise staff, handle budgeting, curriculum development, and ensure compliance with funders and regulatory bodies.

The role emphasizes building enrollment, program portfolio growth, staff development, and strong family/community engagement within the branch structure.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with NY state certification
• State certification in Early Childhood Education or currently enrolled in relevant Masters program
• New York State Universal Prekindergarten regulations knowledge
• Experience leading programs for young children and managing staff and budgets

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve quality of Early Learning, Early Childhood after-school, and enrichment programs
• Develop and implement new Early Learner and community programs aligned with branch goals
• Monitor DOE and Health Dept contractual/regulatory obligations and funder requirements
• Supervise staff, plan budgets, train, coach, and ensure program documentation and safety standards
