Job summary

Greater Somerset County YMCA, Hillsborough YMCA branch, is seeking an Early Education Center Director to lead an infant-to-pre-kindergarten program and drive enrollment growth. You will supervise education staff, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with licensing and safety standards.

The role emphasizes program quality, community partnerships, and staff coaching to deliver high-impact youth development. A Bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years of supervisory experience are required, with YMCA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field related to children or business.
• 2-3 years related experience preferred in coordinating or supervising an early education program.
• Completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens within 30 days of hire.
• State-specific hiring standards (if any) and YMCA program certifications may be required.
• Working knowledge of NJ Department of Children and Families licensing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates Hillsborough YMCA early education program to ensure high quality services.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises teachers and volunteers; evaluates staff performance.
• Manages budgets, ensures fees are collected and financial targets met.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; adheres to safety procedures.
• Oversees facilities and equipment to support healthy living and program delivery.
• Maintains relationships with licensing agencies, schools, and parent groups; responds to inquiries and complaints.
• Maintains records and program statistics; monitors participation and effectiveness.
• Supports organization-wide events and fundraising activities as needed.
• Provides staff leadership for annual fund-raising campaigns and committees.
• Adheres to YMCA policies and promotes YMCA values in all activities.
