Job summary

The Vanderbilt YMCA is seeking an Early Childhood Director to implement safe, high-quality programs across DOE center-based classrooms, centers, and enrichment offerings. You will supervise staff, design curricula, manage budgets, and ensure funder and regulatory compliance to support children and families in a large urban community.

The role drives enrollment growth, program strategy, and collaboration with community partners, while promoting inclusion and developmentally appropriate

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education with state certification.
• Current teaching license or certificate for early childhood services per NY regulations.
• Lead Teacher experience in a program for children under six years old.
• Budget, staff supervision, and curriculum development experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve quality of early learning and after-school programs.
• Supervise staff, volunteers, and interns; provide coaching and recognition.
• Develop budgets and ensure compliance with DOE and Health Department requirements.
• Grow enrollment and program portfolio while ensuring safety and inclusivity.
