Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking a hands-on Division Controller to lead accounting and finance for a multi-site manufacturing division. You will oversee plant controllers and division staff, strengthen the close and control environment, and partner across the business to support transformations.

The role emphasizes strong US GAAP knowledge, financial reporting, and internal controls, with a focus on advancing process improvements and coordinating with external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Progressive accounting leadership experience in multi-site manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial close, balance-sheet accounting, inventory and cost accounting, SOX, and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel, analytical, and financial-reporting skills, with the ability to translate complex information into business insights.
• Strong leadership, judgment, and communication skills, including experience working directly with external auditors.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, intercompany activity, capital accounting, AR, and AP.
• Maintain balance-sheet integrity across all entities and plants, ensuring timely reconciliations and resolution of aged or unusual items.
• Maintain a strong SOX and internal-control environment, including remediation and segregation of duties.
• Partner with operations, purchasing, engineering, IT, and finance on spending decisions, vendor activity, analysis, and process improvement.
