Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services seeks a hands-on Division Controller to lead accounting and finance for a multi-site manufacturing division. This role oversees plant controllers and division staff, strengthens the close and control environment, and partners across the business on financial performance.

The position requires deep US GAAP knowledge, SOX compliance, strong leadership, and excellent communication with external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Progressive accounting leadership experience in multi-site manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial close, balance-sheet, inventory and cost accounting, SOX, and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel and financial-reporting skills with ability to translate data into insights.
• Leadership, judgment, and communication skills, incl. external auditors.
• CPA or CMA preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close with journals and reconciliations.
• Maintain balance-sheet integrity across entities and plants.
• Maintain SOX/internal-control environment with remediation and segregation of duties.
• Partner with operations, purchasing, engineering, IT, and finance on spend decisions and process improvements.
