Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services seeks a hands-on Division Controller to lead accounting and finance for a multi-site manufacturing division. This role oversees plant controllers and division staff, strengthens the close and control environment, and partners across the business on financial performance.

The position requires deep US GAAP knowledge, SOX compliance, strong leadership, and excellent communication with external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Progressive accounting leadership experience in multi-site manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial close, balance-sheet, inventory and cost accounting, SOX, and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel and financial-reporting skills with ability to translate data into insights.
• Leadership, judgment, and communication skills, incl. external auditors.
• CPA or CMA preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

Why This Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on Division Controller to lead accounting and finance for a multi-site manufacturing division. This visible role will oversee plant controllers and division staff, strengthen the close and control environment, partner across the business, and support future systems transformation.

Location: Peachtree City, GA

Key Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, intercompany activity, capital accounting, AR, and AP.
• Maintain balance-sheet integrity across all entities and plants, ensuring timely reconciliations and resolution of aged or unusual items.
• Maintain a strong SOX and internal-control environment, including remediation and segregation of duties.
• Partner with operations, purchasing, engineering, IT, and finance on spending decisions, vendor activity, analysis, and process improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Progressive accounting leadership experience in multi-site manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial close, balance-sheet accounting, inventory and cost accounting, SOX, and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel, analytical, and financial-reporting skills, with the ability to translate complex information into business insights.
• Strong leadership, judgment, and communication skills, including experience working directly with external auditors.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CMA preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
