Job summary

The University of La Verne invites applications for the Director, Research and Sponsored Programs to oversee pre- and post-award processes and ensure research compliance. You will lead a team of professionals, collaborate with faculty, and drive grant submissions while ensuring adherence to federal regulations and internal policies.

The role offers a path to shape sponsored programs and strategic research goals at ULV.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• 6 years of Post Award management.
• 6 years of Pre Award management.
• 6 years of Project Management experience.
• Awareness of Uniform Guidance and applicable OMB circulars (including NSF, US DOE, NIH, NEA, NASA, DOD, NEH).
• Comprehensive working knowledge of pre-award and post-award research administration, including proposal development and submission, award acceptance, award oversight, billing, and closeout.

Responsibilities

• Directs the creation of processes and procedures for vital sponsored research infrastructure.
• Collaborates with faculty and staff to promote ethical research and sponsored research.
• Lead pre-award budgeting, proposal development, and submission.
• Post-award compliance management including IACUC/IRB oversight and export controls.
• Manage export controls and compliance with applicable statutes and regulations.
• Supervise ORSP staff and junior team members.
