Job summary

UL Research Institutes is seeking a Director of Program Development for Sponsored Research to lead the strategic growth of ULRI’s funded portfolio. The role requires building partnerships with universities, government agencies, and industry to identify and secure multi-year awards.

You’ll guide a cross-disciplinary team, implement scalable proposal processes, and apply data-driven, AI-enabled approaches to opportunity identification and drafting.

Qualifications

• Must have experience directing multi-year program development and funding strategies.
• Proven track record securing federal awards and philanthropic grants.
• Strong knowledge of federal funding landscape and foundation funding practices.

Responsibilities

• Direct the development and execution of ULRI's proposal development strategy.
• Identify and develop strategic funding opportunities across federal agencies, foundations, and industry.
• Oversee multidisciplinary proposals expanding ULRI's research and societal impact portfolios.
• Develop frameworks and best practices for proposal development and readiness.
