Job summary

Google LLC in the United States seeks a Strategic Negotiator to secure infrastructure through data center leasing and energy agreements. You will analyze markets, structure deals, and present recommendations to Tech leadership to optimize operating costs and expand Google's data center footprint.

The role emphasizes cross-functional teamwork with Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Accounting to drive strategic energy procurement and carbon-free energy initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in energy project development, utility procurement, or finance/consulting roles.
• 6 years of experience in data center colocation and leasing.

Responsibilities

• Lead transaction negotiations and structuring for data center colocation and leasing contracts, energy supply, renewable energy PPAs, partnerships/JVs, and other data center energy contracts.
• Contribute to growth of Google's data center portfolio through energy due diligence during site selection and project development.
• Help set strategy for Google's energy procurement program, including procurement of carbon-free energy.
• Develop and lead agreement approvals, investment memos, and other transaction materials with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
• Manage strategic relationships with key suppliers including utilities, IPPs, project developers, etc.
