Job summary

Comet Group is seeking a Strategic Customer Program Manager in San Jose, CA to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex customer programs in engineering/R&D environments within semiconductor tech. The role requires coordinating with stakeholders, mitigating risks, and delivering programs on schedule to support growth and new product initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics; MBA is a plus.
• End-to-end program management experience in Engineering or R&D within a semiconductor chip or equipment company.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with program stakeholders (client and internal) to ensure plan alignment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across multiple levels in the organization.
• Experience in a matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and MSProject.
• Program/Project Management certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex customer engagement or product programs under the VP of Product Management and Marketing.
• Lead cross-functional core team including project managers, sales, product managers, R&D and Operations to develop program timelines.
• Drive program execution per milestone commitments to customers and achieve business objectives.
• Identify roadblocks early and develop countermeasures; identify opportunities for improving performance.
• Develop plans to mitigate risk and escalate issues to appropriate individuals.
• Interface with regulatory and customer resources to meet requirements.
• Communicate objectives, status, risks, and needs for the program to all levels.
• Track and forecast divisional projects for new product positioning and growth.
