Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking a hands-on Tax Manager in the Phoenix, AZ area to own the income tax function. You will lead the tax provision process for financial reporting, oversee return preparation, and coach a team of tax accountants.

You will also improve processes, controls, and service levels while collaborating with external preparers, internal staff, and auditors. 6+ years of tax experience and a CPA or Master's in Taxation are valued, with strong Excel and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or corporate setting.
• Strong federal, state, and local tax knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop tax accountants through coaching, supervision, and feedback.
• Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision.
• Oversee federal and state income tax return calculations and filings.
• Review FIN 48 and UNICAP positions.
• Respond to notices and inquiries from taxing authorities.
• Work with internal and external auditors.
• Research and deliver tax information requested by management and outside parties.
• Support related areas, including sales, property, payroll tax and incentives.
• Map, document, and re-engineer tax processes to improve efficiency, controls, and metrics.
