Job summary

The City of Beaumont is seeking a sales-oriented professional to market Beaumont as a premier convention and meeting destination. The role focuses on presenting to convention and trade show groups, developing accounts, coordinating programs and public relations efforts to attract sports, reunions and annual events.

This on-site position requires 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with extended hours and travel as needed to promote Beaumont and draw visitation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school.
• Some college courses in marketing preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience in sales.
• Hospitality or event sales experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree with major in marketing and one year related experience.

Responsibilities

• Market and promote the City of Beaumont as a convention and meeting site.
• Make presentations to convention and trade show site selection groups with emphasis on Sports, Reunions, and Annual Events.
• Develop and manage accounts related to conventions and meetings.
• Plan sales blitzes, tradeshows and public relations efforts.
• Prepare reports; analyze convention markets and develop marketing direction and techniques.
• Travel to promote Beaumont and draw visitation.
• Perform other duties and special assignments.
