Job summary

ADEC, Inc. is seeking a Controller in Bristol, IN to oversee all accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and coordinate audits for Medicaid, grants, and regulatory requirements.

You will supervise accounting staff, support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning, and ensure strong internal controls while reporting to the CFO. The role demands at least 3 years in accounting and a Bachelor’s in Accounting, with proficiency in MS Office and GL software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; basic Excel formulas.
• Familiarity with General Ledger Software.
• Ability to work independently as well as with an accounting team.
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Must pass a drug screen.
• No illegal activity involving dependent populations or violence.
• Proof of freedom from communicable diseases.
• Completion of required training annually.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all accounting functions.
• Ensure accurate monthly and annual financial reporting.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
• Develop and maintain internal accounting controls.
• Supervise accounting staff and conduct performance evaluations.
• Participate in hiring, training, and succession planning.
• Coordinate audits (Medicaid, grants, retirement, regulatory).
• Ensure GAAP and nonprofit reporting compliance.
• Oversee property and sales tax reporting.
• Assist CFO with annual budget preparation and forecasting.
• Present financial information to leadership and committees.
