Job summary

ADEC is seeking a Controller to lead our accounting operations in Bristol, Indiana. You will oversee all accounting functions, ensuring accurate monthly and year-end closes, and maintaining internal controls.

The role reports to the CFO and coordinates audits, Medicaid and grant reviews, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has a BA in Accounting and at least three years of professional experience, with strong communication, analytical, and team leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of three years' professional accounting experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of basic Excel formulas.
• Familiarity with General Ledger Software.
• Ability to work independently and with an accounting team.
• Strong time management and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Pass drug screen and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all accounting functions.
• Ensure accurate monthly and annual financial reporting.
• Review monthly financial statements and schedules.
• Lead the monthly and year-end close process.
• Develop and maintain internal accounting controls.
• Directly supervise accounting staff and conduct performance evaluations.
• Participate in hiring, training, and succession planning.
• Coordinate annual financial statement audits and Medicaid/grant audits.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and nonprofit reporting requirements.
• Oversee taxes and regulatory reporting.
• Assist CFO with budget preparation and forecasting.
