Goodwill Industries of Delaware & Delaware County, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the CFO in daily accounting operations in Wilmington, DE. The role focuses on GAAP compliance, grants accounting, and reliable financial reporting.

You will prepare financial statements, manage month-end close, assist with budgets, and ensure audit readiness. Strong leadership and Sage Intacct proficiency are highly valued in this nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting.
• Experience with audits and donor reporting is a plus.
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct and Excel expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist the CFO in overseeing daily accounting operations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and manage month-end close.
• Coordinate budgets and forecasts with department managers.
• Ensure grant compliance and donor reporting accuracy.
• Support annual independent audits and Form 990 preparation.
• Develop internal controls and supervise staff.
