Job summary

The Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer and drives the integrity of financial information. The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting, a minimum of three years' accounting experience, and strong communication with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of three years' professional accounting experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook; working knowledge of basic Excel formulas.
• Experience with GAAP and nonprofit accounting preferred.
• Ability to work independently and supervise accounting staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all accounting functions.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly and annual financial reporting.
• Review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Lead the monthly and year-end close process.
• Develop and maintain internal accounting controls.
• Directly supervise accounting staff.
• Participate in hiring, training, and succession planning.
• Coordinate Medicaid, grant, retirement plan, and regulatory audits.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit reporting requirements, and agency policies.
• Oversee property taxes and sales tax reporting.
• Assist CFO with annual budget preparation.
• Monitor financial performance against budget.
• Support forecasting and cash flow planning.
• Present financial information to leadership and committees as requested.
• Support agency strategic initiatives including working with departments across the agency.
• Other duties as assigned.
