Job summary

Summit Point Raceway Associates, INC. is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations, ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting, and strengthen internal controls on a busy, government-contracting and commercial-motor sports platform.

You will partner with the VP of Finance to steer budgeting, audits, and strategic financial decisions. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in leadership, with CPA preferred and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• Seven+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Minimum 3 years in supervising an accounting/finance team.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with internal controls and audits.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing, financial reporting, reconciliations, and GAAP compliance.
• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting systems; improve processes for efficiency.
• Coordinate annual financial audits and tax preparation with external partners.
• Ensure GAAP, FAR, CAS and government contracting requirements are met.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team; drive continuous improvement.
