Versified Company in New York is seeking a Controller to design and scale a modern finance function within a venture-backed AI company. You will own the month-end close, drive automation, and ensure robust controls as the business grows.

You will partner with Engineering and Product to implement systems and processes, linking contracts, billing, and revenue to enable fast, auditable reporting.

Qualifications

• Typically 7+ years in accounting and finance, including ownership of accounting operations in a high growth environment.
• Strong technical accounting, particularly revenue recognition, capitalisation and equity.
• A systems mindset: you design the process, implement it and still get into the detail yourself.
• Experience building finance processes from the ground up rather than just maintaining them.
• Sound commercial judgement and the ability to explain the story behind the numbers.
• Taking a finance function from manual to scalable.
• Experience managing variable technology costs.

Responsabilités

• Own the monthly close and make it faster and more reliable over time.
• Provide clear visibility of where money is going and why.
• Build and implement approval processes and cost controls to manage risk.
• Create a clean link between contracts, billing, collections and revenue.
• Establish records, policies and controls that stand up to external scrutiny.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product on systems and processes.
