Job summary

CSuite Financial Partners seeks a Controller for its NYC-based client to redefine the accounting function using AI agents. You will lead monthly closes, audits, and design scalable systems, while partnering with Product and Engineering to shape the product roadmap.

The role offers a path to build the accounting department from the ground up, with exposure to a first external audit and high-growth scaling in a confidential AI-driven firm.

Qualifications

• This role requires external financial audit experience from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Own the integrity of accounting operations including monthly close, reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
• Build and lead audit readiness from the ground up and prepare for the first external audit.
• Design and implement scalable financial systems across AP, procurement, expense management, purchasing approvals, and spend reporting.
• Apply an AI-forward mindset to redesign accounting workflows and ensure explainability and auditable systems.
• Serve as the internal owner of the finance product, interfacing with Product and Engineering to shape the roadmap.
• Partner with an outsourced accounting team to manage day-to-day operations while building scalable processes.
• Deliver spend visibility by vendor, team, category, product, customer, and cost driver for leadership.
