Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a skilled Risk Manager to join our growing team, focusing on risks across major construction projects including data centers and critical infrastructure. You will lead risk reviews, prepare cost and schedule risk analyses, and collaborate with clients and contractors to optimize contingency planning.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field, 3+ years of experience, and strong communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or a field related to construction.
• Minimum 3 years of applicable experience.
• Relevant construction project procurement and contract management experience.
• Demonstrated experience within a Program Management or Program Controls environment.
• Deep knowledge and experience with risk identification, facilitation and techniques.
• Strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills.
• In-depth understanding of construction contracts, commercial models, and delivery methods.
• Proficient in process mapping, root causes analysis, problem solving, and value-stream mapping.
• Familiarity with web-based database tools – ARM, Predict, Tableau
• Highly self-motivated, analytical, and customer centric.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to facilitate risk cost profiling.
• Use risk data to inform investment planning.
• Monitor overall risk exposure and assess the remaining risk budget.
• Work with contractors to assess contractors held risks and their views on client held risks.
• Produce risk reports to support communication of threat and opportunity status.
• Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform project contingency levels.
• Initiate a proactive approach to review and improve risk management services for the client.
• Undertake end-to-end project risk management practices on multiple projects/programs.
• Create risk management plans and processes in adherence to client requirements, processes, policies, and frameworks.
• Lead schedule and cost-effective risk assessment (QCRA & QSRA) processes.
• Integrate risk management within the program and project controls team.
• Collaborate with program and project control teams to eliminate redundancies and identify improvements.
• Transfer knowledge within risk team to the wider project controls team and client.
• Value stream mapping to quantify pain points and develop waste-reduction solutions.
• Collaborate on supplier performance management including metrics collection and improvement plans.
• Support expert witnesses in arbitral or litigation processes.
• Lead, manage, and carry out construction stage contract and claims management.
• Assess contractual claims in accordance with the contract.
• Provide strategic and contractual advice on disputes and resolution issues.
• Carry out change management and construction stage cost control.
• Supervise measurement and valuation of completed works and variations.
• Manage settlement of final accounts with contractors.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role where applicable.
