Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Risk Manager to join our growing team in the United States. The ideal candidate will be an experienced risk professional supporting large-scale construction projects across key markets, including data centers, critical infrastructure, aviation, life sciences, and energy & natural resources.

You will lead risk planning, reporting, and end-to-end risk management activities with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
• Minimum 3 years of applicable experience.
• Relevant construction project procurement and contract management experience.
• Demonstrated experience within a Program Management or Program Controls environment.
• Deep knowledge and experience with risk identification, facilitation and techniques.
• Strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills.
• In-depth understanding of construction contracts, commercial models, and delivery methods.
• Proficient in process mapping, root causes analysis, problem solving, and value-stream mapping.
• Familiarity with web-based database tools – ARM, Predict, Tableau.
• Highly self-motivated, analytical, and customer centric.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to facilitate risk cost profiling.
• Use risk data to inform investment planning.
• Monitor overall risk exposure and assess the remaining risk budget.
• Work with contractors to assess contractors held risks and their views on client held risks.
• Produce risk reports to support communication of threat and opportunity status.
• Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform contingency levels.
• Initiate a proactive approach to improve risk management services for the client.
• Undertake end-to-end project risk management on multiple projects/programs.
• Create risk management plans and processes per client requirements.
• Conduct risk reviews, identify and analyze, determine response plans, monitor risk profiles.
• Lead and run schedule and cost-effective risk assessment processes (QCRA & QSRA).
• Establish integration of risk management within program controls with cost/schedule touchpoints.
• Collaborate with program control teams to eliminate redundancies and identify improvements.
• Transfer knowledge within risk team and to client stakeholders through discussions and presentations.
• Create value stream mapping to quantify pain points and develop solutions.
• Collaborate on supplier performance management and tracking.
• Support expert witnesses in arbitral or litigation processes.
• Lead, manage, and carry out construction stage contract and claims management.
• Assess contractual claims in accordance with contract.
• Provide strategic and contractual advice on disputes and resolution issues.
• Carry out change management and construction stage cost control.
• Supervise measurement and valuation of completed works and variations.
• Manage settlement of final accounts with contractors.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role.
