Job summary

J. Davis Construction is seeking a Project Executive to lead business development, preconstruction, client services, and project management across our South Carolina markets.

You will grow client relationships, win new work, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high client satisfaction. This role requires 10+ years in commercial construction, strong leadership, and experience with GMP, CM at risk, or design-build, plus proficiency in Procore or MS Project.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive commercial construction experience, including business development and client relationship management.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
• Experience managing multiple commercial projects and leading project management teams.
• Strong knowledge of commercial contract delivery methods, including GMP, Lump Sum, CM at-Risk, and Design-Build.
• Demonstrated financial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, and margin oversight.
• Proven leadership, team development, negotiation, and risk management skills.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and reinforces the company mission and core values at all times.
• Develop and maintain strategic client relationships that generate new business opportunities.
• Lead project pursuits, presentations, and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to secure new work and expand market presence.
• Support marketing initiatives and sector growth strategies.
• Create and manage the annual business development budget to ensure resources are allocated effectively, in coordination with the Director of Business Development and COO.
• Provide executive oversight for commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Review project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and contract compliance.
